Today there are many different snus brands. Originally there also were many differnet brands but they were all targeted towards the same consumer group. At the present time all of the adult population is a target group for snus. This has of course forced the manufacturers to produce a wider range of snus products.

The loose snus is primarily targeted towards men that have used snus for a long time. Many of the “hard core” snusers prefer the loose snus since they can control the exact shape and size of the snus.

picture of ettan snus The portion snus on the other hand is targeted towards both men and women. The portion snus is easier to handle and is even less visible then loose snus when it is used. This is something that attracts a lot of people since many people don’t want to get there fingers dirty with the loose snus.

Let’s take a look at some different brands se what kind of consumers they are targeted towards.

General is somewhat of a premium brand and is targeted toward people that lives in larger cities and that are successful in there carriers and that have a higher education. General is the largest brand in Sweden.

Ettan is a very classic Swedish snus. In fact it was one of the first brands that were manufactured on a large scale in Sweden. Ettan has a pure tobacco taste has no aromatic additives. Ettan portion was launched in 1990. Ettan was the most popular snus in Sweden for many years. Today it has about 20 percent of the snus market. Ettan I targeted towards men that are traditionalists and like the outdoors. It is supposed to have a rustic and unglamorous touch.

Catch is s portion snus that was launched in 1984 and is available in several variants like Licorice, Mini and Eucalyptus. Catch is supposed to be one of the most feminine snus brand and has a quite dry and nicer taste than other brands.

Tre Ankare is a portion snus that was launched in 1977. It was the first big portion snus hit. Its taste and texture is similar to Ettan. It is available as both portion and mini portion.
